Amazon.com Review

This compact two-slot toaster from KitchenAid comes with a menu of toasting features and a sturdy, user-friendly structure. KitchenAid's Even Heat system automatically adjusts the heavy-gauge heating elements, so toast comes out consistently, even in large batches. A bagel function toasts the cut side of bagels, while simply warming the crusts, and a warming function gently reheats previously toasted foods. The Easy Lift lever and Soft Rise feature are both helpful when lowering slices or raising them to a graspable height. Notably wide and deep, the self-centering dual slots accommodate thick slices of brioche or fat bagels. Other handy details include a dial for shade control, "cut side" markings for bagel toasting, power indicator lights, a dishwasher-safe crumb tray, and power cord storage hooks. The toaster's stainless-steel interior and polycarbonate housing are built to last and easy to clean. The unit measures 11 by 7-3/4 by 6-3/4 inches. --Emily Bedard

"Makin' Toast" 2010-10-15
By Robert L.Bennett (Florence, SC United States)
Arrived quickly, undamaged and looking good. We eat a lot of toast from homemade bread.
Toaster did a great job. Uniform toasting across the slice. No obnoxious buzzers or bells.
Too soon to tell if it lasts, but seems solidly made. Very pleasedKitchenAid KTT340WH 2-Slice, Two-Slot Digital Toaster with Bagel and Warm Functions, White

"A toaster that doesn't toast." 2010-10-11
By J. Buckley (Lincoln, Ne USA)
You would think a $60 Kitchen Aid toaster would perform the simple task of toasting bread evenly and to the desired degree of doneness with no trouble. You would be wrong. As other reviewers have noted, it doesn't toast bread dark enough - even on the highest setting - and when it finally does (after two or three trips through) the outside of the bread is darker than the inside.

This technological wonder replaces a $7 White Westinghouse toaster that worked for years until it was knocked on the floor and broken. It's only problem was that it was sometimes a little too small to fully accommodate slices of my homemade cracked wheat bread. Otherwise, it just quietly did its job - every morning.

Kitchen Aid ought to be ashamed and embarrassed that they can't do for $50 - $60 what someone else can do for under $10.

"Not that great for bread" 2010-10-09
By Susan B. Holter (Seattle, WA)
This toaster works fine, and does a good job on bagels, but for english muffins the slots are too wide and they usually end up burned on the edge. The slots are not long enough for specialty breads either. I'm going back to a toaster oven.

"Great Toaster!" 2010-10-07
By Richard Wendel
This toaster is my wife's favorite toaster. She has red accessories in the kitchen and it was nice to find a red toaster to complement everything in the kitchen. It works great with plenty of room for bagels. I received it quickly and didn't experienced any problems ordering the toaster or with shipping of the toaster.

"My Hope Was Busted" 2010-09-26
By Greg K (Westminster, Maryland)
I wanted this when I saw the pretty red toaster in the picture. I have a couple of red appliances in my kitchen and I wanted to add this to the view. I thought KitchenAid was a reputable dealer too. I unboxed it, took it out, and it looked real good on the table. So far so good. I enjoyed looking at it the first few hours. Then it came time to toast my bread. I anxiously placed two pieces of toast in the slots. I pushed down on the handle, and guess what, the handle sprung right back up again. It did not latch to heat the toast. I kept pushing down to make sure I did it just the right way. There was no right way. The pretty red toaster was busted from the get-go. I pressed the return button on the Amazon website. UPS is on the way tomorrow to pick it up from me. I did not opt to get a replacement. My gut tells me it would just be another disappointment. I will get my refund instead. I would have rated it zero stars if that were possible, but I gave it one instead for nice looks. I wish I could have looked at it a lot longer, and gotten my toast at the same time.
