"Nobody makes a good toaster anymore, including T-Fal" 2010-10-14
By M. M Magliaro (Philipsburg, PA United States)
It's overpriced, cheaply-made junk.

The lift levers are linked with a flimsy metal/spring mechanism.

We've only had this thing about 2 months and already the right-side lift

doesn't work. The lever gets jammed up inside and won't lift the toast out.

The right side also does not heat nearly as quickly as the left anymore.

It did when we got it.

Getting the levers to stay down when you start toasting is a pain. You often

have to push/hold them several times to get them to stay down.

I've tried a few different toasters over the past 3 years. I expected better

from a $50+ product. But it is finicky,

cheaply-made junk like all the rest.

Honestly, all a toaster is is some heating coils, some springs, and a case.

What happened to all the basic, battle-hardened chrome steel toasters we had as kids

that you could drive a tank over, and which worked forever?

This is ridiculous.

"Toasts well, breaks easily" 2010-10-02
By Steve (Iowa, USA)
We've had this toaster almost a year and it toasts nicely. The bagel feature is very nice toasting on one side and warming the other side. My complaint is the lifting mechanism which raises the toast out so you can reach it is very flimsy. The right side quit working after about 3 weeks. The left side still works only because we are very very careful with it. If the toast / bagel isn't all the way up when you use the lifting arm it will jam or break. I've read many reviews with the same complaint, so it's not just our experience. Our next one will be a Kitchen Aid. I would not recommend purchasing this toaster.

"Too old to wait for toast!" 2010-08-15
By J. Jack (Maine, USA)
We bought this toaster 2 years ago and at first it seemed to do a good enough job, but it took FOREVER (over 3 minutes for "medium" toast). The longer we've had it, the longer it takes to toast...we're up to 3.75 minutes, now....and recently two of the four slice slots refuse to heat at all. We will replace it, but NOT with a T-Fal. Sometimes a higher price does NOT mean higher quality; although my husband comes pretty dear and he's worked out very well for the past 30-odd years!

"Replaces our old T-Fal 2 slice toaster" 2010-04-23
By Beckie L. Sheldon (PALMYRA, ME, US)
We had the same toaster but only in the 2-slice version for over 15 years. It was not toasting as well so we decided to get a new one. No other ones on the market have the same features so we came back to this one. T-Fal has never failed us and they continue to give value with quality.

"Uneven Toasting and Off White Color" 2010-04-08
By Kenneth A. Close (Port Ludlow, Washington USA)
Ordered and received the toaster promptly from Amazon. I experienced uneven browning of bread. I tried several batches of toast and one side was brown and the other side would be barely brown. Also, the toaster was suppose to be white, but I would call the actual color cream when comparing it to our appliances and old Cuisinart toaster. We returned the toaster to Amazon and will order a different brand.
